Gosh i can't believe how old I am now! 27! I don't even remember being 26! What happened? Where did it all go? Well, I guess it's all down hill from here hu!? =p And despite the fact that i grew a (scraggly) beard, people that i run into still think that I'm not even old enough to drink! Well I know the truth, I'm a old, old man! I think Ruthie even found a gray hair on me the day after my birthday! Fortunately for me, I have a 19 year old girlfriend who keeps me young, just by association!
I had a pretty good birthday. I got to spend it with family and girlfriend! But it had not gone as planned one bit! Originally Ruthie and I were supposed to go up to Flagstaff and do some really cool stuff up there! I had planned on going up to San Fransisco peak and do some hiking, and ride the ski lifts to the top of the mountain! There is nothing like being only 150 miles from the 110 degree heat of Phoenix, with it being only in the 50's! I was also thinking about taking a tour of the Lowell Observatory too. Well, it ended up that we couldn't go. Ruthie forgot to take the day off! Oh well, it ended up that I wasn't able to afford it anyways! So I adjusted my plans. I was going to take Ruthie to the shooting range, because i get a free .50 caliber machine gun rental on my birthday at the Scottsdale Gun club. I was also thinking about going down to Tempe Town Lake and renting a paddle boat. Maybe some mini golf too. Well, non of that worked out because i ended up having to baby sit the children. I was pretty bummed out that i didn't get to do what i wanted for my birthday, but i ended up still having a little bit of fun, despite having a brother with a attitude problem! Mom made some ultra sick spaghetti for dinner, and Ruthie made me some awesome cupcakes. Ruthie's family came over for a little bit too which was a surprise! It was really cool to have them here! They even brought me a present! That was really nice. Afterward, big storms were a brewin just to the south of our house! It was so amazing! The lightning was the best I have even seen it! There was so much lightning that there was almost a perpetual light within the clouds! It had the look and feel of something that does not happen naturally. It was almost like God was coming down from heaven to do something really big! It was freakin sweet! So Ruthie, the kids and I drove up to this spot north of Desert Mountain to watch the storms. Its such a great spot because you can see all of Phoenix from there! It was so much fun watching the ferocity of the storms all over the city.
